Maths Addition

Last week we were working on Number! We used different methods to partition 'break up' numbers. We had to understand the place value of each digit before we could do this. Some of us even worked with tenths and hundredths.

We partition 3 digit numbers like this

356 = 300+ 50+ 6

When we added decimal points we found out that the decimal point never moved!

So, 237.36 was partitioned like this

200(hundreds)+ 30(tens)+ 7(units/ones) + 0.3(tenths)+ 0.06(hundredths)
